Why Do We Buy Him Toys?

Here we have a small representation of the many, many toys at Max's disposal, ready and itching to be played with and explored. Which of these almost infinite choices will Max select?

Trick question. The answer is: Max will reject all of these clean and colorful activities, and will spend hours hunting, examining, and (if not apprehended) eating pieces of trash or bits of filth that he finds on the ground. Thanks for playing our Max Trivia game, folks.

that hat makes me lollerskates

that hat makes max do the opposite of lollerskates, which i just had ian translate for me. it is not the most masculine of hats, i admit. he has to wear it for his swim lessons, though -- he doesn't have enough hair to protect the top of his giant head from sunburns.

I think that one of my jobs is to help you ease into some of the deeper depths of the internets. It's very cool to see you post blog updates but soon you will be able to surf the superfreeways and know exactly what everyone is saying.

Ian explained to me what lollerskates is, and why, but I can't exactly say that I see the point. Perhaps with time, as the blueish green computer light seeps into my brain, I will begin to understand.

What the heck is lollerskates?

okay, according to Ian, lollerskates comes from LOL, which stands for laugh out loud. He was not that clear about how LOL mutated into lollerskates, but apparently what Mike is trying to say is that he thinks the hat is funny.

the internet is all about the fusion of 2 unlikely things or ideas or things and ideas... you could say the internet itself is fascinated by the mixed metaphor

Patrick Stewart and Ronald McDonald, Chuck Norris and Caber Tossing, Darth Vader and Grocery store management... etc

rollerskating is kindof a silly way to get around, the internets knows this and likes laughing at it, an even better way to laugh at one thing is to simultaneously laugh at another completely unrelated thing thereby creating a fusion of funny

I was laughing at rollerskates in an internet meme sort of way and Max's hat in another

next week: meme
